CrossFit Rebel S.A -

Our 1st Certification Level 1 Event:

The 20th of February 2010 was another successful and highlighted event in the history of CrossFit Rebel S.A. Not only were we the first official qualified CrossFit instructors, but also the 1^st CrossFit affiliate in South Africa. We continued to grow stronger in 2009 and were nominated to host the 1^st Qualifier Games. Now in the beginning of 2010 saw us finally host the much anticipated 1^st Level I certification.

The excitement was running high and started early in the week after picking the International CrossFit instructors up from the airport. Mike and Lisa Ray from CrossFit Flagstaff Arisona and Kevin Lim from CrossFit Singapore. We were all ready and hungry for whatever they had to share with us, that we drew from them everything that we could.

They were very open hearted and didn’t mind all the questions and information that we had gathered for them. After a wonderful dinner and some time to get to know them better we were ready to take this certification on.

30 Delegates attended and came from all over the country; we even had people from the USA, as well as India. Our people were simply in awe of the instructors, all of them a great example of true CrossFitters. They have learned so much and took in everything that was given to them. It was a long 1^st day and when it was time for the WOD, you could actually feel the anxiety of the unknown. Everyone survived and we met for the “stink and drink� which was an awesome opportunity to talk about the day and share each individual’s thoughts and ideas.

Day 2 was nothing less than what we expected, just as informative as day 1, and to everybody's amazement they were stiff and tight from the PVC pipes of the previous day. The WOD before lunch was also very challenging but everybody gave their all. At the end of the day after receiving their certificates you would see the pride and satisfaction on each and every individuals face. It was a long two day certification, but very successful and we all parted extremely tired but content with everything that was achieved over the weekend.

Since then, we proud to announce that Pierre Ferreira opened his affiliate box "CrossFit One-Ten" on the 1^st of March 2010.

We would like to thank Mike, Lisa and Kevin for everything that they have given us, all the knowledge, information, advice and their friendship. Also a special thanks to Jobst from Cape CrossFit for assisting during the weekend.

We treasure every memory that was made and this will always be our 1^St Certification. We are looking forward to hosting many more in the future.
